Hi Traders,

I made the last post about my trading journey at the end of April 2024.

At that time I had 14 month of consistent trading behind me. I traded my own live account. I was part of a trading community, and my trading processes were on point. The results were great!

I made 39R in 14 months with a max drawdown of 8R. I was ready to scale up my account and I was considering joining a prop firm.

I was confident, ... over confident maybe. I stopped forecasting and reviewing my trading weeks, and I left the community I was part of. Also I stop posting here.

Let's see what happened ...

A drawdown of 15R in just one month!

My strategy hadn't changed. The markets I traded hadn't changed drastically.

What did change were my processes, my mindset, and as a result my execution of my trading plan.

So I took a break from trading during the summer. And since September I have been reviewing my trades to see what went wrong and what I have to change.

And my conclusion is:

I do not need to change my edge. I just need to stick to my process of forecasting, trading and reviewing my trades based on my trading plan.

What I have learned is:

don't stop trading. Maybe take a break for a few days, or a week. Then reduce risk per trade and take less trades. Only take the best trades I can find. Once the performance is on track again, scale up to normal risk levels.
stick to my edge and trading plan. Do not look around for other strategies, but optimise, or adjust the current one, else you will have to start all over again.
be accountable. Publicly share some of the journey I am on. That's where you can help :-) . Also find an accountability partner. Still working on that. Contact me if you are up for it :-).
